Bus 490 is a Yutong “E12” ZK6131HG1 plug-in electric bus which entered service in March 2020 on a 12 month trial.

Canberra-based company Electromotiv is leasing the bus and charging equipment to Transport Canberra, with the option to extend the lease or buy outright.
The Yutong bus as supplied was built in Zhengzhou, China. It seats 40 with standing capacity of 17. Its battery capacity is 374kWh using four Lithium-ion battery packs and it reportedly has a maximum range of 400km on a full charge, although the bus configuration can be modified to add or remove battery packs.
