The Featured Buses for September/October 2017 are Buses 963 967 & 971 – Renault PR100.2 Mk2 buses

Buses 963, 967 and 971 are Renault/MACK PR100.2 (“Mk2”) buses bodied by Ansair Tullamarine, which entered service with ACTION in mid-1992.

These three buses feature the last surviving painted special livery, which encourage Canberrans to “Take ACTION (to) conserve our fossil fuels.”

These buses are affectionately referred to as the “dinosaur buses” and were often used for charters for pre- and primary- schools, including bus wash tours.

The livery on these buses is sometimes mistakenly believed to be an advertisement for the National Dinosaur Museum, due to dinosaur skeletons featuring in the design.

Bus 967 was withdrawn from service on 4 May 2020 and is now in private ownership. Bus 971 was withdrawn in April 2023, leaving only Bus 963 in service (as at August 2023).
