“The ACT government is taking passenger information seriously, and these new ACTION timetables clearly demonstrate how Network 08 will operate,” said Minister Hargreaves.

“Over the coming weeks, you will notice large orange signs appearing at bus stops around Canberra. Providing improvements in passenger information is another way that ACTION and the ACT Government are building a better bus service for Canberran’s.

“The signs will be progressively introduced along ACTION’s High Frequency ‘Intertown Route’ that operates between Bus Interchanges every 5 minutes on weekdays and every 15 minutes on weekends.

“The signs will also be appearing along Northbourne Avenue, Constitution Avenue and at major bus connecting points like Erindale, Dickson and Kippax.

“You will notice ACTION’s updated branding appearing on material, with the slogan ‘Going your Way’, bringing a new and fresh appearance to a new and improved bus service starting from today, and the newly wrapped bus looks great.

“The ACT government has provided significant additional recurrent and capital funding into the new network. It provided $49.5m over 4 years for replacement buses, $8m for a new ticketing system,$9m for additional services to mention a few.”

“Canberran’s should look out for ACTION’s new information appearing at a bus stop near you. It’s hard to miss, and from 2 June this year when ACTION’s Network 08 commences, ACTION buses will be easier to catch.

“From 2 June this year I expect we will see more people at bus stops as they realise what a great new service ACTION will be providing,” concluded Minister Hargreaves.

The Minister also highlighted ACTION’s updated logo that will be appearing on the new stops and timetables.
