Quote from: Bus 400 on November 28, 2020, 07:21:19 PMA tender has been released for a new TC Heavy Recovery Vehicle (tow truck).

It's for use by TC & ESA for buses & fire trucks. Expected to be handed over in June 2021. Can't see anything about having certain specifications to handle electric buses or being electric itself. But the new truck is expected to have a life of 15 years, only Macks can handle longer...

The contract for this tender was published in August. (https://tenders.act.gov.au/contract/view?id=192959 )

As was probably expected, the new tow truck will be a Scania. Specifically a Scania R580 (Euro 6 diesel).

No delivery date is listed, other than a requirement to be delivered prior to 30 February 2023 (sic).

I was always going around streets of Canberra before lockdown and I never saw a single truck...
So what's the current track in service (assuming Renault?) and how old is it?

Just a reminder for those who don't have this written down.
