Last one for the year: nominations now open for December Photo of the Month. Each member may submit 2 photographs for consideration by fellow forum members.

Photos must contain a bus and be related to ACT - either a photo taken in the ACT (or Queanbeyan if you are that way inclined) or a photo of a former ACT/Queanbeyan/Yass bus operating elsewhere. Photos must not have been previously submitted for POTM.

Nominations will close at 6pm (AEDT) Thursday 24 November.

Non-members can submit nominations via facebook.

Sir Pompously

Will you be holding another "photo of the year" comp?

That's the plan. Monthly runners-up will be included as well.

Late in the day, an artic, tired at the days exertions carting school children and commuters - expires in Civic.

Here are my two entries for December. These were taken fairly recently  :)

The first shot is of Murrays Coaches (406) MO266 (ACT) BCI JXK6127 / BCI Cruiser 12 sporting a wrap for the Canberra Centre to Floriade Shuttle. It is seen here having just departed the Canberra Centre.

My second shot is of an Australian Defence Force coach, DO9018 (FED) a North Coast Bus and Coach bodied Volvo B12B. The coach had just crossed the Commonwealth Ave bridge.

Cheers

President Barack Obama departs Canberra, as a driver of an ACTION MAN 18.310CNG pauses on Glenora Drive to watch Air Force One (A Boeing VC-25) depart Canberra Airport.

Irisbus Agoraline BUS-312 is seen on State Circle operating a peak hour 227

These photos are from a while back. Been meaning to post them for a year or 2 now.

Here we have BUS 990 outside ABS House in the Belconnen Town Centre

She certainly scrubs up well as a photo.  But in the 'flesh' she's looking quite tired rundown.

You're right there Kramden, although the indigenous themed PR2 based at Tuggy faded even more quickly; it looked fantastic when first deployed, from memory, around mid 2008...although Chris's PR3 would have to be the better of the two designs.

Without naming names, there are some people who think Sir Pompously's first photo should be ruled ineligible, since the bus is not identifiable. I'll leave it up to Buzz Killington's discretion.

Sir Pompously

I did make sure to clear it first with an Administrator. As the photo does contain a bus, and there is nothing in the rules that state that the bus must be identifiable, I personally believe that it is ok. All that is in the rules is that "Photos must contain a bus and be related to ACT". Those that do not think the photo is worthy are welcome to vote with their mouse.

Kramden

Hmmm, next they'll be claiming it was Photoshoped!  Sure, the bus is not the main subject of the pic but there is an ACTION bus present.  Perhaps we should run it past the Secret Service...get their thoughts?
