Title: Tuggeranong Valley Services
Post by: Bus 400 on September 30, 2009, 07:56:42 PM
These are changes which I believe could simplify some routes & maximize on areas not covered.
60-62 stay the same.

63 Woden Interchange via Monash & Waniassa
64 Woden Interchange via Monash & Wanniassa

65 Woden Interchange via Isabella Plains, Chisholm, Gowrie & Wanniassa

66 Woden Interchange via Bonython, Gowrie & Fadden
I believe this run would get rid of one of the most hated intersections in Canberra (trying to turn right from Bugden Avenue onto Ashley Drive in peak time.

67 Woden Interchange via Calwell, Richardson, Gilmore, Monash & Erindale
68 Woden Interchange via Richardson, Chisholm & Gowrie
*With all these services using Athllon Drive through the Woden Valley the Intertown service would run non stop through Woden Valley.

You would need to atleast stop the intertown at Mawson, as there are two Schools and a Park and Ride facility in place.

There is so much wrong with this, I don't know where to start. When will you get over your obsession with a route along Jackie Howe Cr - it's NEVER GOING TO HAPPEN. And I doubt that Sturdee Cr is particularly bus friendly either.

I'm not sure how Wanniassa and Monash will like having their route to Erindale removed (not sure whether Erindale would be too happy either).

The best way to simplify these services would be to consolidate Wanniassa into two routes (rather than four) and to run most routes through Erindale.

Sturdee Crescent actually does have bus stops along it though.

You don't have the right of way if you are turning out of Bugden into Ashley. Turning left OR right out of there in peak periods can really test your patience, even more so when you've got a 12m+ vehicle to negotiate out of there..

Remember, cars may be able to make use of the teeny little 'waiting lane' when turning right, but the buses can't.
