Maybe it's just me, but I would swear the air-conditioning in the Volgrens (and Yutongs) is the best we've ever had. I don't pay much attention to the models outside of the shape for artistic purposes so I don't know if they're different - and being a Tuggeranong resident I don't get to ride them all that often to really know either. The aircons on the Euros and Bustechs can get pretty loud too, don't think I've noticed that on the Volgrens.

Quote from: L94UBbusfan on November 06, 2024, 08:59:42 PM431 had a different next stop sign, it said "STOPPING" in blue text, instead of the usual "STOP" on all the other MANs.

480 had the same Next Stop sign that I observed on 431 back in November, thought it was just a one off trial thing but it must just be a replacement sign.

From a passengers perspective I think they are a much nicer bus to ride; to drive...I didn't like them but they're growing on me a bit

General Discussion / Re: MyWay+ implementation
Last post by Bus 400 - January 21, 2025, 10:20:25 PM
Tried out a MyWay+ card & debit card yesterday.
The ticketing system works how it should. Both cards charged the same fare. Except the last trip. Even though my partner & I tapped on at Tuggy Bus Station. Apparently I tapped on at Tuggy Bus Depot & haven't tapped off yet. Apparently making the value on my debit card -$1.21.
I loved how a passenger claimed to have lost her bus pass. So the driver asked where her bankcard was.

The app on the other hand. Useless besides pre planning a journey. Which Google Maps already does. It could atleast show you your transactions.

Don't get me started on the 3 accounts linked to my email address. That i only can log in with 2.

I much prefer the look of the Volgren bodies over the Bustechs.

Shame cuz I quite like them (except the space in the front seat). Seems to be a pattern emerging, a bunch of drivers have told me they dislike them. The Volgrens are the modern Irisbus. ;D

It's what was selected in the contract process, retrospectively you could say it wasn't the best choice.

I believe the Volgrens were only purchased due to build slot constraints at Bustech at the time, for fleet commonality it makes more sense to keep getting bustechs

Either I don't remember where to look or what I'm after is buried under mountains of text, but was there a reason why we're getting more Precision/Bustech buses over Volgrens?

Fleet / Re: Four CD Element 2s (748-75...
Last post by L94UBbusfan - January 18, 2025, 10:08:13 AM
Another media article regarding Canberra's Element 2s has been released.
Custom Dennings national relationship manager Mick Neskes said that the company has "absolutely no reports of range concerns" from Transport Canberra, and said the issues are mechanical. He also said only the bus with a faulty sensor (748) needed to be sent back.
I find it odd that 748 was sent back for a problem that sounds like it could be fixed in Canberra, unless this article is complete garbage
