Looks like we'll be doing a second lockdown edition.

Rules will be similar to last month, but this time the bonus category is: old AOA photos - any ACTION or Deane's/QCity bus with an AOA or special livery which is no longer on the bus (includes buses no longer in service, but excludes photos of 967 after withdrawal).

So start looking through your photo collection. Nominations will open next week.

Welcome to the first (and only) second Lockdown Edition of Photo of the Month.

As was the case last month, photo submissions will be restricted to those taken prior to 5pm on Thursday 12 August. This time, the "bonus category" will be for old AOA photos - photos featuring AOAs which were removed prior to 31 July 2021 (check wiki if uncertain when an AOA was removed). You may re-submit a previously submitted photograph provided it has not won a POTM or POTY vote, excluding photos submitted for September 2021.

So to summarise: you may submit 3 photos in total; up to 2 new photos taken up to 5pm 12 Aug and up to 3 old AOA photos as defined in the rules.

And now the rules:

● two photographs may be submitted by any one person provided they were taken before 5pm on 12 Aug 2021 [1] *

  ◦ * This month we are seeking old AOA photos[1][2]. If you submit a photo meeting this criterion, you may post up to three photos but you may only submit a maximum of 2 photos of the same bus/tram.

● photos must be "owned" by the person submitting it (if not, you must have the permission of the photographer to submit the photo - and identify the photographer)

● photos must be have taken legally - ACT Bus does not encourage or condone trespassing

● submitted photographs must prominently feature:

  ◦ public transport infrastructure (such as bus stop, bus station, bus depot, Light Rail line, tram depot) within the ACT / Queanbeyan region (location must be specified)

and/or

  ◦ a bus, tram or support vehicle from the ACT or Queanbeyan (taken within the region or a former ACT/Queanbeyan bus) where -
    ▪ the vehicle is in focus
    ▪ the fleet or registration number is identifiable (or supplied by photographer if not visible in photograph)

● photos narrower than 640 pixels will not be accepted

If possible, please supply date or month of photo.

Refer here for full ACT Bus photo submission conditions.

Photos can be submitted by replying to this forum topic and attaching the image; to ensure consistency, photos must be displayed with a width of 640 (or height of 640 if a "portrait" aspect) - photos larger than 640 are required to use the option width=640 or height=640 in the image tag. For example: [img width=640] instead of [img].

To submit photos from Instagram, you must post a reply with a caption and paste the URL of the Instagram image. Photos not publicly visible cannot be submitted. We will no longer accept unhosted photos - they must be stored on a photo hosting site (such as Instagram, Flickr or Facebook).

Submissions close midnight 26 September, Australian Eastern standard time, unless fewer than 6 photos have been submitted.

Voting will commence on 27 September. Voting will close 1 October.

The winning photo will be loaded to the actbus.net website and posted to ACT Bus on Facebook and Instagram. The winner and runner(s)-up will also be included in the Photo of the Year vote. By submitting a photo, you are giving permission for it to be loaded onto the ACT Bus Gallery, and Facebook and Instagram pages.

Notes:
1 - previously submitted photos may be re-submitted with the exception of photos which have won a Photo of the Month or Photo of the Year vote, or were submitted for September 2021.

2 - "old AOA photos" refers to photos of an ACTION, QCity or Deane's bus or a CMET tram with an all over advertising (wrap or paint) or a special livery which is no longer on the vehicle - as at 31 July 2021.
