Title: Narrabundah Terminus question
Post by: smitho on July 28, 2012, 09:41:16 PM
There is a very old looking concrete pole type structure adjoining Narrabundah Terminus landing pad area; anyone know what it was used for?  Hanging a gas lamp may be?....or a timetable information board possibly?

I'm assuming you're talking about this pole? http://goo.gl/maps/xZmEk

Yes, that's the pole.

Haven't seen anything like it at other vintage bus stops.

Curious to know what it is.

On the old MTT bus (and tram) network around Adelaide, we often used to have to wait at terminii / major timing points for the driver and conductor to activate a Bundy clock type device when it was the correct time to leave. I wondered if the pole may be a remnant of something similar??????
