Would you expect anything less of a '3'?  I was discussing their short comings with a colleague the other day and we agreed that in a perfect world the 3s should be scrapped ahead of many of the 2s.  Not surprising there are always more 3s than 2s in the sheds come mid afternoon.

Good luck with that CNG.  I know I've only driven a handful of them in my short time at ACTION, but I'm afraid whenever I think of 3s the term 'shitbox' immediately springs to mind.  I never liked them as a regular commuter either.  I will concede that some 3s are better than others.

No, just another floating shift.  I don't think they let the newbies do spare work until we're a bit more experienced.

A-ha, one of the Iris's I'm yet have the pleasure of.  Thanks for the heads up.

Snorzac

I am lead to believe the problem is to go wit the torque converter not locking up, hence the bus is loosing a lot of power.

This morning, an ex-Belco Renault that's now at Tuggeranong, and this arvo it was an ex-Tugg Renault that is now at Belconnen :)

Did they send two standards in place of an artic?

Snorzac

The reason for that delay is actually because the driver has some sort of idea. From experience all the 50 series runs have to much time to get to the first timing point after Belconnen (William Slim/Chuculba) so leaving late ensures the bus stays on time once leaving Belconnen, the people who do the timings need to look at tightening the timings up to avoid such occurrences.

Firstly, in response to route56: WTF?

...and now back to our scheduled program.

Wed: 993, 842 (my new favourite Mk 1)
Thu: 113, 114

Last Sat I picked up 416 for a long detail including 956 City, 938 Woden, 932 Belco, 942 City, 900 sth, 961 Woden, 927 Cooleman and return, 932 Belco, 905 Fraser.

*Seriously, I was in the middle of a comms call and I had to call them back when the bus was in motion. The rattling noise was that bad I couldn't hear what they were saying to me.

Took 935 out for afternoon runs today - one of the best Mark 2's I've had for a long time, never short on smooth power.

Bus 'owner' must keep a keen interest in making sure bus is well presented inside and out - one of the few around still with its own broom.
