Sir Pompously

Went chasing the Canberra Oil Train and the Crisps Creek garbage train. Yesterdays oil was quite different from normal, it had 3 X's, and a trial was performed with X47 leading X52 and 50 out to Bungendore and return before perfomring their usual shunt and offload into shell. X47 was the only one online, so it is presumed they were performing a load test.

Oil Train

The Canberra Fuel Train is seen back tracking to shunt into towards its siding. Only two of three X's performed this shunt

X47 leads X52 and 50 into Bungendore, passing one of the few Semaphore signals left on the line on a Canberra Fuel service

A Canberra Xplorer service is passing the Canberra Fuel service in Fyshwick. A note that the centre carriage is still in the original scheme, a scene soon to disappear. Also the Xplorer service rarely passes the Fuel train here

Test Run to Bungendore

X47 leads X52 and X50 on a test train to Bungendore, and is seen passing the Kings Hwy near Burbong. X47 was the only unit working at this point, and the screaming it made coming up the gorge was unforgettable

X47 is seen leading X52 and X50 on a test train to Bungendore, taken at Hoskinstown Road level crossing near Bungendore Junction

Garbage Train

DL50 leads 8004 and 8105 on the Garbage Train, departing Crisps Creek and entering Tarago

DL50, 8004, 8105 pass through Joppa Junction, onto the Main South Line from the Bombala Branch (Canberra line)
