No I didn't spot you 400.  Too focused on dogding pedestrians as they dart or daydream across in front of bus traffic.

Yes both runs are VERY quiet...except along Goreen St when the bus rattles and jumps around on the uneven surface of 'old Canberra'.

I've not been trapped at the Hospice.  Any potential for making that blunder was pointed out in training.

A week of Darts in the AM and Mk Is in the PM.  Routes 9 and 52 respectively plus SR 415

Mon: 132, 864
Tue: 144, 867
Wed: 141, 845
Thu: 144, 840
Fri: 144, 841 (best performer of the week)

While I wouldn't like going around in a Dart all day, they seem fine for a few light runs.  A good thing I've warmed to the little buggers because I've got a another week of them ahead of me.

LOL, 817 had idle set to low and had an air leak, every time it sat still for too long the driver was unable to release the handbrake without revving the tits off it. and due to the air leak the rear tyres were rubbing against the wheel arch.

The 88 was used to get to Swinger Hill as it was the first bus heading that way to depart.

Most of the 840s are pretty good with 841 & 846 the better ones.

I'd have to agree with you, in particular on 841.  Obviously my driving experience across the entire fleet is limited at this stage but I really liked this one.  Good steering, suspension and the retarders kicked in gently which doesn't seem to be the case with a few of the others.

It was all the better having it yesterday given that I was driving a 52 northbound.  Due to the Mitchell fire diversions I got to drive up the Federal Highway. The regular passengers seem to like the change of plan too.  Just for a moment it seemed we were escaping the drudgery of our daily lives and heading to Sydney...so said one of them.

An Iris actually, but it's slim pickings in the sheds around 15.30.  The reason I got a MAN for two of the days is that the shift was being occupied on those days by a driver on gradual return to duties after injury and it was decided that the driver should use one of those buses.  I tagged along in case things went pear-shaped.  All was fine though.
