Hi Everyone,

Yesterday afternoon we headed down to Premier Illawarra's Unanderra depot and purchased 675 for $2,500.
We went through some of the other withdrawn Renaults which are due to be scrapped and got a few spare parts and bits and pieces, including one of the old Clarion Tape decks and associated microphone.

675 made the journey from Wollongong up the mountain to sydney, stopping over at the monthly HCVA meeting on the way to oakville. Bus was a little bit sluggish with the top speed only about 70km/h however the gearbox is very smooth engine remarkably quiet, body in perfect condition with only one dent, fairly tidy all around and hardly anything missing from it except some flooring inside is a bit dodgy. That said we now have the bus and I will try and do a bit of work on it on monday, if someone could contact me with the paint codes for the blue, orange, arctic green and 'bumper-bar-black' then let me know so I can go and source the paint to get it painted ASAP.

How many others are for sale i would love a .2 for that price

Got to work on the bus a bit more today, all the seat backs are now the correct fabric, although the back seat is ACTION blue fabric and we could not find any fabric seat bottoms. All seats are now fabric except there is still 7 vinyl bottoms, I do have 6 fabric bottoms however only 1 is the correct colour, the rest look like replacements where they have tried to match the colour and failed so I guess they will have to do until we can source more in the future! Also removed all the NSW stickers on the bus except for the 40 and when lights flash. Installed the red light in the centre of the dash where there was not one before, removed cash tray holder and datafare base. removed premier fleet numbers and replaced with slightly oversized new fleet number.

a few more photos...also included is the 'no smoking' signs which heavily featured on early .2's and artics. Looks like I need more stickers!

Also still looking for the correct paint codes or names and where i can order them if anyone could help it would speed up the process!

Sir Pompously

We may need to do some cosmetic touch up's on the dash....... If the parts can come off and be put back on easily, I can pull them off one trip and clean them up at home.

Sent you the names of the paint - codes differ depending on supplier. Chris can tell you where he got his paint.

Dash parts are all separately removable and all in fairly good condition. Only part I want to remove is the main dash segment to reprint the black on it which has worn off. Everything else seems to work. I want to swap over the door button panel with one of the other two ones we picked up as they have the correct half leaf switch on them, I just did not have the tiny screw driver and extra set of hands required to complete this fidly task!

If anyone can help I need photos of the action info line ad, usually found behind the driver and is a blue and white sticker. Also the PR100.2 sticker, Also pictures of any other stickers would be appreciated. If anyone knows how we can get some Mack or Renault badges or ansair badges please let us know.

Need advice on what to use to black out the sides of the desto? I have been suggested contact but I presume that would appear tacky and wear very easily.

You can either get a contact style blackout film or black out paint. Try a windscreen place, tint specialist or a automotive bodyshop supplier. SuperCheap or Repco might even have some.

In regard to stickers, if you got a few good square on photos of what you are missing, you can usually go into a sign place and they can make them nearly identical to your photo.

Hope that helps.

Busnerd

Oh wasn't aware you had collected the seats! Now that you have them we will endeavour to pick them up off you as soon as possible to get them out of your way. I'll see what I can organize CNG, if all else fails I have next weekend off if you can wait that long

CNG if you need to get rid of them quick I am happy to store them in my shed until such a time that I go to Sydney or Mat comes to Canberra.

Get them to find you a cheap Renault up there and drive it down for you!

Busnerd

675 has been moved to a residential property in Suburban Sydney, both neighbours seemed very interested in it and luckily didn't appear annoyed in anyway! So good news for us is it's now just around the corner meaning we will actually have more free time to work on it now, instead of the previous hour plus drive out to it that we had before.

Do you happen to have a picture of it now??? (The outside.)

Busnerd

Yes however nothing has changed since the last update on the facebook page visually.
