Title: Cloth ACTION destination roll on eBay
Post by: Buzz Killington on February 23, 2013, 01:31:35 PM
http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/COMPLETE-Canberra-Bus-Destination-Blind-ACTION-Buses-/261173357599?pt=AU_Transportation_Collectables&hash=item3ccf252c1f

Current bid is $100 plus postage.

Can anyone confirm which model bus/es this would have been fitted in? I think it would be the MAN SL200/SG192s?

"Higgins Interchange" helps date it as pre-1979 (possibly as early as 1976). That roll would have appeared in all buses at the time it was made: Leyland National, Volvo B58, AEC Swift and early MAN SL200s.  Not sure about the SG192s and later SL200s.

I was bidding on this item & like the last one I battled it out for, a higher bid was placed seconds before the auction ended. Ruling me out, but hey people are willing to pay close to $300 for an old destination roll so collectors win somewhere.
