I seem to remember hearing that buses have to be able to tip 30 degrees? 45 degrees? without rolling, anyone know more about this?

Wow, thats incredible, wow.......

That would depend on a lot of things, like centre of gravity, bus weight, etc. Considering it is a Volgren, built of lightweight materials, and it had roof mounted CNG tanks, I'm surprised it didn't tip, but yes, Buses these days are built to withstand incredible angles of tip.

Snorzac

That is awesome, i only watched it now.

I was asking if anyone knows what angle the design standard for buses requires them to tip to without toppling over. A liitle bit of web searching has revealed these Australian Design Rules, the 1st is general bus stuff and the 2nd is about the allowable deformation if the bus tips over. Didn't read all 74 pages of legalese but it doesn't seem to have anything about tip angle.
