New adverts around town and the yet-to-open MyWay Centre in the Blue Moon Cafe site are promoting Transport for Canberra and the following link:-

Sir Pompously

haha, the Transport for Canberra Website is basically a link-share site, most of it is just links to already existing pages. Instead it should be a brand new website, with other Government pages linking to it.

Hopefully Transport for Canberra becomes the hub for transport, and a department that is able to run the transport side of TAMS excluding ACTION, ACTION should be either seperate or within TAMS and should operate to TFC's agenda for Timetables and ticketing. Personally I would like to see a TFC Management Centre, which has traffic management (Traffic Cams on major roads, variable speed signage and information signage NSW Spec especially with a slowly growing parkway network), Safety and Security (watching cameras at Interchanges, carparks such as park 'n' ride, monitor the emergency phone network etc), public transport management which would include timetables and routes, ticketing, taxis aswell as working with NSW Department of Transport and lastly transport infrastructure planning and design.  Of course, this is all what I would like to see happen, so it won't, but it might be a good thing to seperate transport from TAMS, leave those that maintain everything in the department, and those that operate and plan out of it (Of course, TFC is a TAMS department but a girl can dream).......
