The torch relay was supposed to represent freedom, truth, celebration among other things, but to thousands of Canberrans, it represented inconvinience. See, some smart cookie decided the Torch Relay would be carried out just after the morning Peak Hour, which resulted in traffic queues 6kms long, and traffic travelling at walking pace.
It also inconvinienced ACTION, as many of the roads that were closed were utilised by ACTIONs services, resulting in closures, and diversions. The City Interchange also fell a victim to the torch relay, having to be relocated, to the "City West bus layover".
I hope this series photos will paint a picture of the day as it unfolded.....

Renault PR100.2 MkII 978, ready to terminate passes Renault PR100.2 MkII 952 bound for Kaleen.

Scania L94UB CNG 346 northbound on an Intertown Service, with the bike rack being utilised.

A view of the Southbound portion of the temporary Interchange, where passengers have to squeeze through the barrier to get to their buses, with "Free Tibet" fading fast in the sky, just like in reality.

A wider view of the Northbound portion of the Interchange, with a Renault PR100.2 MkI about to terminate, with an Irisbus Agoraline behind it heading north on the Intertown, as that sky writer gets back to work.

And to wrap up the excitment of morning peak, Dennis Dart SLF with Wright Crusaider body operating a northbound 34 is ready to leave, as Renault PR100.2 MkI 811 is heading out to Fyshwick on an 80.

Comments are welcome, and look out for the next part, "Diversions", buses on service where you wouldn't usually see them.
Thanks for looking!

PS, it appears as though my camera lens was smudged, but it was soon cleaned later that morning.
