Title: 1970s ACTION Timetables added to Gallery
Post by: Buzz Killington on June 03, 2012, 08:39:11 PM
With thanks to Smitho, I have been able to add some 1970s timetables to our Gallery. Here are the direct links:

http://actbus.net/gallery/index.php/History/Timetables/1977/Route-031
http://actbus.net/gallery/index.php/History/Timetables/1977/Route-026
http://actbus.net/gallery/index.php/History/Timetables/1977/Route-033
http://actbus.net/gallery/index.php/History/Timetables/1972
http://actbus.net/gallery/index.php/History/Timetables/1971
http://actbus.net/gallery/index.php/History/Timetables/1979/Network-Map
http://actbus.net/gallery/index.php/History/Timetables/Undated

If anyone can shed some light on what year the timetables in the final link (Undated) are from, please do :)

Two ways to narrow down the date of the unknown timetables:

(1) The Fares shown include a 50 cent day ticket. I've got a fares brochure from the pre-ACTION days - when the Fare Go ticket was first introduced - so around 1976-77, and it had daily tickets costing $1.30. Based on that, the timetable would have to be much earlier so maybe 1973-74.

(2) The timetable ran until midnight on Sunday.

My guess would be around 1973, but it's only a guess.

The letraset font which they've used for the "Route" heading dates it to the "psychedelic" era of the late 60s or early 70s.
