Title: Too hot :-)
Post by: Stan butler on January 04, 2020, 05:06:46 PM
Yep - service disruptions on the light rail.

Extreme weather - ie it is too hot.

Buses are still running!

Fancy that, and they are much cheaper too.

This is exactly why I still prefer the Renault's over any other bus/tram. Boarded a Euro 6 the other day and my body nearly went into shock just from the sudden temperature drop from being in the 40+ degree heat to a freezing cold air conditioned bus.

You do have a good point - plus the Renault's at least allow you to open the windows and sky hatches.  Nothing like a good breeze - and nothing worse then being on a bus with busted Ac and the windows can't Open.

You're right, it was pretty cold today. Had my aircon set to circulated air for most of day and it was so cold I was almost going to turn my heater on.

So far this summer there has not been any extreme heat days in the ACT; this is due to the 'La Nina' effect, however climate change is still underway in the background. It is possible that Canberra may not reach 40 degrees this summer; this may have a positive effect on bus and light rail operations.
