I know of quite a few, can't remember all of them however. Scrolling through anytrip I can spot a few though.

(Distances calculated by google maps) There's a bunch around the 110-200m mark, but I'll leave those for others to catch haha!

  • Soward Way split by Scollay Street (160m) - various Tuggeranong routes
  • The Round-about on MacFarlane Burnet Ave (160m) - route 44
  • Shakespeare Cresc from the terminus to the next stop eastbound (100m) - route 41
  • Archibald St (130m) - route 51
  • Mt Stromlo High to #2496 twice a day (58m~) - route 63
  • Boddington Cresc before Barritt St (75m) - route 70 northbound
  • Beasley St after Torrens PS (110m) - route 62 on return trip
  • Caley Cr to Goyder St (100m) - route 56 to Fyshwick
  • Holy Spirit PS (62m) - route 24
  • *St Francis Xavier College stops #2564 to #2555 (70m~) - route 46

These are just of routes active today, I'm sure there's plenty for past routes if I tried looking a little harder.
* According to Anytrip it says it's suppose to stop at both, but I doubt any driver would bother doing that.

Sure, not technically part of Canberra, but your rules only exclude interchanges :P (not like they would count anyway lol) and this route does actually travel to Canberra. After creating all those ridiculous timetables using CDC Canberra routes, I had noticed quite a number of odd distances between stops.
  • Ashby Dr & McCusker Dr, Bungendore (85m) - route 844X

I'm surprised at just how close some of these bus stops are to each other. There are a fair few on the 63, while looking at the ones you found I found another one.

Route 63 towards Woden: Fremantle before Bunbury to Fremantle after Bunbury (83m distance between stops)

I like the question!

I can think of four, all approx. 90-100 metres apart:

Route 66 towards Woden: Harold White before Cotter (2842) to Cotter after Harold White (2812)

Route 79 towards Tuggeranong: Duggan after Beckett (1028) to Duggan before Pennington (1668)

Route 63 towards Woden: Fremantle after Streeton (1250) to Fremantle after McKail (0201)

Route 63 towards Woden: Yambina before Wirangu (2419) to Yambina after Wirangu (2292)

Infrastructure / Shortest distance between 2 di...
Last post by L94UBbusfan - Yesterday at 07:31:51 PM
Recently I had the thought, what is the shortest distance between 2 different bus stops? (ie: you can get on at one and get off at the next, meaning interchanges don't count)
The shortest gap between 2 different bus stops I could find was the gap between Horse Park Dr after Overall Ave, and Horse Park Dr 2nd after Newlop St, with a gap between stops of roughly 190 meters. Does anyone know if there are 2 separate stops which are closer in distance than the stops on Horse Park Dr?

Canberra Metro / Re: Five New Trams
Last post by triumph - February 10, 2025, 08:39:51 PM
First ride in one (017) of the tranche of 5.
As expected, it seems largely like any other from the first tranche.

There are however detail differences. The most irritating is that fleet number with module identifications (C1 S1 R S2 C2) have disappeared (at least I couldn't find them) from inside the passenger areas. Looking in from the platform I did observe Fleet number with C1 high on the left (as the driver sits) hand side wall of the driver cabin. Presumably the C2 is at the other end but LRV left before I could check.

Another irritating feature is an intrusive repetitive two tone sound, apparently to indicate the doors are enabled for opening.

Some other detail difference examples noticed so far include different door pillar cross-sections at C module doors,  longer hand rails without curve at the same doors, a window breaking device inside on right hand cab wall, a seemingly wider PID on the cab bulkhead, and different destination legend eg 'ALG GUNGAHLIN PLACE' (didn't think to check if older fleet were updated). Do general users need to know where the service started from?

No doubt there are many other minor details that may be different.

Also 'Flora Explorer', the Australian National botanical Gardens electric, left hand drive, unregistered Gardens tour vehicle. Visitor Centre to site of 'corpse' flower which flowered (after 15yr wait) this weekend past, and return.
