I used to catch these extra wide, 3-door, two man buses every day to travel to school on the MTT's old Somerton route (No 23).
When they got rid of conductors most of the fleet was retired, along with their look-alike cousins, the AEC Regal Mark IV's. However some of the Royal Tigers were cut down the middle and made into narrow bodied buses so they could legally operate outside of Adelaide.
I recall some ended up in NSW, for example in Wagga. I'd be interested if anyone knows whether any of the Royal Tigers or AEC Regals are still in use anywhere around the country. I think there is a preserved Regal at the St Kilda Tramway Museum north of Adelaide.
