How I see it is, if they start the conversation you continue it. Other people will talk to their bus driver mate throughout the whole journey including times when the driver is doing things that require a lot of attention. This includes going through uncontrolled intersections to exiting a bus bay.

I should note the above comments are not about any members on this forum (in case anyone was thinking that).
