At last I have gotten around to posting these. For those who have never heard of a Skyrail it is basically a cable car. This is one of the biggest in the world stretching over 7.5 kilometers over a mountain and rainforest from a location just a short drive from Cairns Airport to the small tourist town of Kuranda. If you would like more information on the Skyrail please visit http://www.skyrail.com.au/

Part One of this series is relating to the Skyrail its self where as Part Two will focus on the scenery at the two stations along the way.
Some of these pictures have some pretty bad reflection so apologies for that.

First up is an image of one of the gondola cabins at the Cairns terminal.

A view out to the left just after leaving the Cairns terminal

A view toward the Cairns suburb of Smithfield

A view directly behind towards the Cairns Terminal... which you can't see

A view ahead to the rather large climb

A view behind again looking towards Green Island which you can't see in the picture

Getting closer to the top.

Back down the other side

A view behind again, this time with a different background.

And the final picture for part one is of the workings of the rollers at the second station.

Part 2 coming tomorrow
