ACT Policing is investigating three separate incidents involving ACTION buses since Wednesday night (July 22).

About 8.40pm on Wednesday, the driver of a bus travelling southbound on Gooreen Street, Braddon noticed a white sedan travelling in the opposite direction. As the car passed, an object struck the front windscreen of the bus causing impact damage however, the object did not penetrate the windscreen.

About 9pm, police attended the Civic bus interchange at East Row in response to a report of property damage. The driver of the second bus saw a dark-coloured sedan, possibly with three persons on board, from which an object, possibly a rock, was thrown. The object hit the driver's side front window, causing it to shatter.

About 8.30pm yesterday (Thursday, July 23), a third bus was travelling along Clive Steele Avenue in Monash when it was struck by a small shifting spanner which smashed through the rear window of the bus. The driver of the bus saw a white Nissan Pulsar sedan containing three male occupants, one of which leant out from the passenger's side of the vehicle when he threw the spanner.

No-one was injured as a result of the incidents.

Police searched areas of interest but were unable to locate the vehicles. As part of its investigation, ACT Policing is working with ACTION to obtain and review any CCTV footage from the damaged buses.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incidents, who may know the offenders or who may have seen any vehicle matching the descriptions to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800333 000, or via the CrimeStoppers website on www.act.crimestoppers.com.au.

I hope the CCTV footage provides very useful!

I think these low lifes are mostly after media attention. Numerous times I've heard over the two way for bus drivers to be aware after rock attacks, they are mostly on the southside area but never make the news.

Media Attention? WTF? You clearly don't understand the way a mind of a young adult/teen works, add alcohol and stir. Maybe because of a dare, or they have bad influences in their lives who have no regard whatsoever for safety or public property (namely microwave blowing up announcers on 104.7).
