Title: New Hino
Post by: Toyota Camry on November 11, 2019, 01:11:21 PM
Transport Canberra have recently commenced operating a new small Hino bus on an unknown shuttle; whilst waiting for an inbound R4 to return to my office in time for a 1:45pm meeting. it passed the Westfield Belconnen station. This was after travelling to Belconnen for lunch at KFC in the Westfield food court. There were two passengers on this shuttle; the destination of it was unknown.

Definitely not operating the 901 Bruce Shuttle. Can't rule out the Belconnen "flexible bus", but might just be undergoing testing.

What makes you think it was a shuttle? did any signs point to that fact? It would be more likely given it is in branding for the Manufacturer and Model that it is being assessed by possibly Transport Canberra or other local operators and the people on board may be from the company or also possible from Hino.

The bus stopped at Westfield Belconnen station and picked up two elderly passengers, one of whom used the wheelchair ramp to board with her walking frame; in addition, the driver was wearing a Transport Canberra uniform. It is unlikely demographically that these two elderly citizens were employees of either Hino or Transport Canberra.

The time does match the flexible bus pickup. And it is an ideal vehicle for that service
