In my mind they may of had a chance to get away with the skit if they cut out the end bit where Chris Taylor said "why go to any trouble when they're going to die any way"

That's exactly right, I do find it absurd that a joke like this would have been warmly accepted just 15 years ago, but now, these days, we can't offend, just in case someone gets hurt.
I would hate to see Australia's attitude change to become less relaxed and more uptight, like America. Very dissapointing.....
