Post by: Buzz Killington on July 13, 2009, 07:29:10 PM
WIN News reported tonight that a driver was assaulted following a 'dispute over the fare' in City Interchange this afternoon.

I'll lock this thread to avoid any speculation etc, but I'll keep an eye out for any articles on this.

Media Release from RiotACT:

ACT Policing is seeking witnesses to an assault on an Action bus driver at the City bus interchange today (July 13).

Around 3.25pm the victim asked three men not to board his bus, located at platform one, after a discrepancy over the price of a ticket. One of the offenders then punched the bus driver three times before all three men fled in the direction of Bunda Street.

The three men are described as being of Middle Eastern appearance and unshaven, with two of them aged in their mid to late teens and one aged in his mid 20s. The older man, who punched the bus driver, was further described as around 6'6" (198cms) tall, with a large build, a cut lip and was wearing a grey pullover, grey tracksuit pant and a red baseball cap. The other two younger men are described as around 5'8" (173cms) tall.

Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who knows the identity of the offenders to contact Crime Stoppers.
