Title: Restoration of lunchtime trains
Post by: smitho on November 25, 2009, 08:49:18 PM
I notice that Countrylink (ie NSW Govt Railways) is starting to promote the re-introduction of the daily lunchtime Xplorer departures on the Canberra line - special cheap fare deals are on offer to mark the occasion.

The Redex services make rail an attractive low cost option for Gungahlin and North Canberra residents (at least on week days).

I Am glad you`d be a good idea, TBR.

This was announced a little bit ago, however was marketed that `Queanbeyan would get extra trains`.

Just out of curiosity, I secided to see how much a ticket would be for myself (Student fares) from Canberra to Campbelltown, and it turned out to be only $22! Next time I travel up to Sydney, it will definately be by train!
