Title: New Section: Early History
Post by: Buzz Killington on December 01, 2009, 01:24:07 PM
Early History is a three part series exploring the Early History of the Canberra City Omnibus Service.

Part One is now available (click the 'Early History' link on the left hand side of the website) and covers the 1920's from the commencement of buses to ferry construction workers to worksites and camps, to the expansion of the service under the Federal Capital Commission and introduction of four routes.

Enjoy the read and look out for Parts Two and Three coming soon.

"Four daily workers' trains commenced running from Queanbeyan NSW to Cabrera on 15 January 1923, over a railway opened to goods traffic on 23 May 1914." Canberra is spelt wrong!!!!
other than that little mistake its a very good read!!!
