Title: old buses
Post by: zeddy on February 20, 2010, 12:05:17 AM
with all the new buses coming, was wondering if anyone knows if any of the older buses will be 'retiring' soon [ie the original artics] or if they'll be complementing the existing fleet.

I don't think that information has been made public as yet.

They do need additional fleet capacity though, so who knows what'll happen really

Well, the intention was to retire the artics as the new 14.5m buses came along, but that's all up in the air at this point, as there are rumours we may get new artics, again, up in the air.

As for the older rigids, a guess would be to see a few of the older buses be retired in a few months, with the steady delivery of newer vehicles.

I have heard that there will be sold Mk Is, moved to Woden (the storage facility) as soon as next month. Bare in mind that they may only be stored and not sold off.

When the new MANs and Scanias were first announced I seem to remember that they were saying there'd be a net gain of 40 buses.
