Title: Woden Interchange: State of play
Post by: smitho on January 17, 2013, 08:37:29 PM
Workers have been busy this week chiselling away at the stone clad, concrete canopy which is the main structural element of the interchange.

The stones are being removed and the old concrete surface left with a rough hammered look, which might not look too bad with a coat of paint.

Makes me suspect that the latest Woden interchange redevelopment proposal may have fallen by the wayside. (As I recall, govt had said that it'd set a Christmas deadline for announcing any agreed redevelopment package)....

Bridge repairs/strengthening works are currently being conducted at Woden Bus Station. There was a "Select" (whatever that means in Procurement terms) for this work. But I can't find the contract.

From memory it means that the company doing the work was identified and approached rather than having to submit to a tender process

Normally it means they were selected from a panel. Panels are used quite a bit, especially for maintenance.
