Bus 400

Am I correct in thinking that it was only until recently that most of the evening route 56 services terminated at Narrabundah?

I was bored one night recently & (as you do obviously) i had a sticky beak at AnyTrip & noticed only 4 services actually use Narrabundah Terminus now.

I think so, because if I recall correctly, many years ago it used to only be the last trip that did it (I'll have to check my various 35's to confirm this). Over the last maybe decade I believe it has been the last couple.

Hey does anyone know what that Shuttle Service bus is that runs around the southern side of the City? It's been going I don't know how long, 30 years or more by now probably, but I see it all the time and it's always run with a Queanbeyan bus. There's no information on it on the CDC/Qcity website (even looking at old versions), anytrip doesn't appear to detect it and I've doom scrolled google for way to long without any result either.

Who is it for?
What does one do to become eligible to ride this bus (I've sometimes seen people on it)?
Where does it actually go and does it have a timetable?
Why is it such a secret?

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Sorry. If I tell you, I'd have to kill you. (That's a hint. And probably all anyone can reveal.)

Well you didn't specify when you would kill me so I guess it must not be that bad. Go on then.

Can someone riddle me this, a new bus stop is being installed in Canberra Hospital (looks roughly where the old Emergency drop off was).
So why is the R6 now no longer servicing Ainsworth St? Whilst there's no change to what stops the R6 services on Yamba Drive.

With the current Woden interchange diversion the times are already quite tight on the 6. With another additional leg perhaps it's to prevent further time loss by sending the 6 via Launceston then right down Yamba until buses can leave southbound from the new interchange once more. The article I read did suggest "temporary" diversion. That's a complete guess though.

I'm so confused. Typically of Transport Canberra they don't give any warning or adequate information on the relevant page for this sort of thing. It's nice they're finally using maps, but it's still not good enough.
Anytrip is suggesting this new stop is where the old Emergency was, but I thought a building was going there, shouldn't the new stop be where the new Emergency is? Suppose I'll have a better idea when I pass by next week.

Also while on the topic of Canberra Hospital, what are the chances the bus stops on Palmer Street will ever get used again?

Agree that based off the map, the new stop appears to be near the old emergency entrance, where a bus could navigate around the loop road.

Looking at the TCH Campus map, Hospital Rd (whcih the new ED fronts) is no longer a through road. There's a small loop at the end of it if you approach from Bateson Rd, but is it large enough for a bus to navigate?

I have previously looked at this and wondered. It is probably large enough in theory, but frequent congestion is likely to frustrate any attempt to routinely use it for buses.

Wow okay so I did the detour for the first time tonight, that is a very tight turn-around. I'll be keen to ride an artic next, should be mildly amusing - especially if the cause of the concertina tears are because of this and not rowdy teens.

Route 54 (a circular one)
Noticed a small change. Whilst Majura Park etc remains as a destination on the bus, the timetable at the City Interchange stop, and the on-line timetable now both show timing point 'IKEA' in lieu of Majura Park.

When this happened I don't know. Be interesting to see if 'IKEA' finds it way to the on bus destination displays.

Coming up on the weekend of 15-16 November, the Monaro Highway southbound will be closed between Hindmarsh Drive & Lanyon Drive.

Besides buses dead running to Tuggeranong Depot. How do we think the 902 get to Hume? The logical way would be to go via Canberra Avenue & Lanyon Drive. But AFAIK, only the steertags can legally enter NSW as is.

The only other way is to double back on itself & go down Mugga Way & the tip.

Wow okay so all gps tracking is now dead. Thought the mayhem with half the Woden depot buses not having their myway- machines not working was bad enough. Only thing still working is the app, and oh boy is that thing super hard to use.
