Route 161 (1999)

Route 161 was a peak service that supplemented Route 061 (1999). It effectively operated as Route 61, a feeder route operating between Woden and Tuggeranong Interchanges, via Phillip, Wanniassa, Kambah South East, and Oxley, but extended to the City.

Notes

• The route was initially planned for introduction in July 1998, however Network 1998's commencement was subsequently delayed until January 1999.
• The route was modified in September 1999 to travel via Corinna St on southbound services. At the same time, the route was modified through Oxley and Wanniassa, operating via Erindale Dr, Taverner St, Laurens St, McBryde Cres, and a full loop of Newman Morris Cct, instead of Newman-Morris Cct (East) and Forlonge St.
• The route was proposed for modification under Network 2008 to no longer operate via Sainsbury Street, Melrose Dr, or City West. The change did not proceed.
• The route was modified in September 2014 to travel via McBryde Cres, Mackinnon St, Sternberg Cres, Wheeler Cr (East), Garratt St, and Langdon Ave, instead of via Wanniassa West and Kambah South East. The service was also streamlined at the northern end, removing the service to Melrose Dr and Corinna St, as well as being altered around the City, with northbound services terminating at London Cct and Akuna St.
• The route was modified in May 2015 to travel via Erindale, with selected services diverting via St Anthony's Primary (along Wheeler Cr, turning around at the Fincham Cr roundabout)
