Canberra’s commuters and tourists can take advantage of ACTION bus service’s festive goodwill by riding free bus services all day on Christmas Day.
ACTION will be operating a free service on Christmas Day. Ten special bus routes across Canberra will stop at major shopping centres and take passengers to the local town centres.
Then between Christmas and New Year ACTION will be operating a modified weekday timetable between Tuesday 29 December to Thursday 31 December 2009.
On the following days – Saturday 26 December 2009; Monday 28 December 2009; and Friday 1 January 2009, bus services will operate to a Sunday timetable.
Then for people out celebrating on New Year’s Eve, make use of the ACTION Nightrider service and catch a bus home – don’t drink and drive. Buses will depart between 1am and 4:45am from the Civic Bus Interchange and take people home for a $10 fixed fare.
