Wow okay so all gps tracking is now dead. Thought the mayhem with half the Woden depot buses not having their myway- machines not working was bad enough. Only thing still working is the app, and oh boy is that thing super hard to use.

Quote from: L94UBbusfan on December 02, 2025, 07:58:00 PMI was lucky to ride 371 today which is sounding better than it was last time I rode it
Little did I know at the time but that ride I had on 371 would be my final L94 ride, since 371, the final Scania L94UB CNG in Canberra was removed from service today. As my username suggests, I've always loved the L94 CNGs, I grew up with them ever since I came to Canberra almost 12 years ago now. Another reason why I loved them was because of the sounds they made, from what I remember, 335, 351, 358-361 stood out as the best sounding in the fleet, but the last few with the Scania OC9 G02/260 engine also sounded great. While yes some of them rattled a fair bit and I've heard they weren't some driver's favourites to drive, they were Canberra's first mass order of CNG and accessible buses and will be missed. RIP Scania L94UB CNG 2004-2025  :'(

Quote from: Bus 400 on December 04, 2025, 05:55:37 PMWith a Facebook post of Bus 901 topping up at Taree, yesterday. I assume 901 is in Canberra today & as such the last of the 90 buses has been delivered.
901 was delivered 5 December and entered service on Monday (15 Dec). So that's the last of this round of bus deliveries.

Quote from: triumph on December 04, 2025, 09:59:47 PMInteresting. So where did the Australian journey under its own power start, Brisbane? And they must have quite a bit of mileage on by the time they get here.
The VDI assembly factory is in Brisbane (near the airport), and the NSW sales dealer is in Prestons.

Once built, the buses are transported from Brisbane to Western Sydney – this is mostly done on a low loader (presumably), but on occasion the bus is driven down. Maybe at times when there are not enough trucks available.

Anyway, after acceptance at Sydney, they are driven to Canberra.

A couple of us were there 40 minutes early, you must've arrived at the wrong hour.

I'm sure there'll be other opportunities, the various transport related groups are becoming quite active now.

I'm really glad I signed up to PTCBR when I did as today a small group of us got to have an exclusive tour of the Woden Bus Depot. Was more fun than I expected and we were given permission by the Depot Manager to take/share some photos. Had an explore of the drivers building (including the signing room, canteen and gym), an extensive look throughout the charging areas, the workshop and we also got to go in the 'pit'. At one point I asked if we could get an opportunity to look underneath an electric bus and just before the end of the tour they hoisted 839 so we could get a squiz.

...

I received emailed instructions a couple of days ago. Specifying meeting point. Arrived 20 mins early and parked right across from the meeting point. No one turned up so after 1/4hr elapsed after start time I left, wrongly assuming that it got cancelled due to someone being affected by the outrage in Sydney. Very disappointed as, at my age, there probably won't be another opportunity for me to join in.
