- The route was initially planned for introduction in July 1998, however Network 1998's commencement was subsequently delayed until January 1999.
- The service operated via Throughbred Park (Randwick Rd) on race days.
- Evening and weekend services were provided by Route 051 (1999), Route 052 (1999), and Route 054 (2000).
