- It was introduced as an Interim weekday service in May 1986, operating from Woden to Erindale via Phillip, Kambah South, and Oxley.
- It was modified in July 1988 to service Wanniassa, replacing Route 252 (1981)
- Weekend services were provided by Route 160 (1988)and Route 161 (1988)
- It was extended to Tuggeranong Interchange in July 1992.
- It was modified in August 1994 to no longer operate via Scollay St, due to the Hyperdome extension.
- It was modified in May 1996 to travel to Melrose Dr via Launceston St instead of Callam St and Hindmarsh Dr on southbound services.
