- Initially operating Monday to Saturdays, it ceased operating on Saturdays in May 1987, and only operated on Tuesdays during school terms.
- From April 1988, it operated on weekdays, including school terms.
- Route 905 provided access to Regatta Point, Embassies, Red Hill Lookout, and the (new) Parliament House Exhibition.
