- The route was split in two from September 1999, with the City to Woden section becoming Route 086 (1999), and the City to Nicholls section remaining as Route 050 (1999), with an extension to Belconnen.
- Selected services operated via the Racecourse, or between City and Federation Square, City and Ngunnawal, Kingston and City, Dickson and Fyshwick, or Fyshwick and Federation Square.
- Weekend daytime services only operated between Federation Square and Fyshwick.
