- The route was introduced as a variant of Route 002 (1928), often operating in combination with that Route, and servicing Griffith.
- The route was modified from 28 July 1944 to operate via Liversidge St instead of Balmain Cr, and Ipima St instead of Farrer St.
- The route was modified in January 1947 to operate via Northbourne Ave and Cooyong St instead of Mort and Alinga St for all services prior to 7pm, due to congestion.
- The route was modified in March 1948, with selected services operating to/from Narrabundah, the Railway Station, or the Causeway.
- From March 1948, services operated in combination with other routes. For further details, refer to Network 1948.
- The route was extended to Narrabundah Terminus from 19 April 1951, and modified to operate via National Cct instead of Macquarie St on daytime services.
- The route was modified from 8 October 1951 to operate via McKinlay, McIntyre, and Stuart Streets.
- The route was modified to travel via Eyre St through Kingston on journeys to Narrabundah from 29 June 1959.
