    • Default fares may apply when a customer fails to tag off when disembarking from a bus or exiting a light rail stop. The default fare is not included in the daily or monthly fare cap, so may be charged in addition to any daily or monthly cap allowance.

However, the default fare is not currently being applied during the transition phase of the MyWay+ ticketing system, but they may be re-instated at any time. Transport Canberra will publicise if and when it decides to recommence applying default fares.

Published default fares are $1.88 for adult fares, $0.95 for all concession fares.

    • Once a number of paid journeys are completed within a calendar month, all further travel within that month will be free. The monthly trip cap is 40 “paid journeys” for all fare types, except School Student which is 30 “paid journeys”. The same payment method must be used for all trips in order for the trip cap to apply.
