Media Release: 11 November 2009

Twenty ACTION buses have been fitted with a moustache to help raise awareness of men’s health issues, specifically prostate cancer and depression.

“The vinyl moustaches span the width of the front of the buses and have been personally paid for by ACTION’s senior management team,” said ACTION’s Business Manager, Liz Clarke.

“ACTION has also organised for Movember awareness posters to be installed in these 20 buses.

“One of our drivers, Andy Young, came up with the idea. Given the demographic of our workforce we thought it was a great opportunity to raise awareness and valuable funds for research into prostrate cancer and depression in men.

“Our senior management team were only too happy to contribute to these worthy causes.

“The mo buses will run on the new ACTION REDEX route which commences operation next Monday 16 November, with the others being on the intertown network.”
