Photo Opportunities
One of the best photo opportunities for ACTION buses is to sit outside either depot on a school day from around 2pm in the afternoon. A huge number of buses generally leave the depot between 2pm and 3pm to do school services. Both depots generally nearly empty out at around this time of the day and only a small amount of buses remain in the depot.
Tuggeranong and Belconnen Depots both house PR100.2, PR100.3, Dennis Dart SLF, Scania K320UB (Steer Tag), MAN 18.320 and Scania K360UA (articulated) buses.
Irisbus Agoralines reside only at Belconnen, as do the two MAN 18.310 diesel units. Renault PR180.2 (articulated), Scania L94UB CNG and MAN 18.310 CNG all reside only at Tuggeranong.
Woden Depot is home to stored and withdrawn units, vehicles recently delivered, the Special Needs Fleet (Hino AC140 and Mitsubishi Rosa) and what remains of the Heritage Fleet.
Where’s the best place to spot…?
Any of the below bus stations are suitable for Renault PR100.2, Renault PR100.3, Scania L94UB, MAN 18.310, MAN 18.320, Irisbus Agoraline and Scania K320UB Buses.
Articulated Buses mainly operate on School Services and Xpresso Services, so are best found outside the depot or in the Parliamentary Triangle or City during afternoon peak hour. Dennis Dart SLF buses are more commonly found in Woden Bus Station. PR100.3 are more often found on the northside as the majority reside at Belconnen.
City West Bus Station and Layover is well worth checking out during afternoon peak.
City Bus Station
The City Bus Station is located on a “T” formation of three streets – Alinga St, East Row and Mort Street. The following routes travel to or via City Bus Station:

The City West Bus Station in between University Ave and Allsop St City East. It is the only Bus Layover in the City.

Woden Bus Station
The Woden Bus Station is located on the corner of Bradley St and Callam St in Phillip. The following routes travel to or via Woden Bus Station

Belconnen Stations
Belconnen differs from the other major centres in that it features three separate bus stations in place of a central one. They are the Belconnen Community Station, Westfield Bus Station and the Cohen Street Station. All three are located on Cohen Street, Belconnen The following routes travel to or via the stations:

ACTION Tuggeranong Depot
ACTION’s Tuggeranong Depot is home to a variety of ACTION vehicles (although no Agoralines), the workshops, and the CNG refuelling facility. It is located at 200 Scollay Street in Tuggeranong, and has a bus stop right outside. The following routes travel past

ACTION Belconnen Depot
ACTION’s Belconnen Depot also houses a variety of ACTION vehicles aside from the gas vehicles. It is located on Cohen Street Belconnen, alongside the Cohen St Station.

Canberra Railway Station
The Canberra Railway station is located off Wentworth Avenue Kingston. Catch the following services

Canberra Airport
The Canberra International Airport is a 15 minute drive from the City. It is located off Pialligo Avenue on Tyson Dr.
Services for the Airport are: Airport Express (Royale Coach), which departs from West Row.
ACTION do not service the airport however it does travel to the nearby Brindabella Business Park on the following routes:

Fraser West Terminus
The Fraser Terminus is located on Shakespeare Crescent, and is used as a start/finish point for intertown services. Services for Fraser Terminus are:

The Spence terminus is located on Copland Dr in Spence (behind the 5-Star supermarket) and is used as a start/finish point for intertown services. Services for Spence Terminus are:

TOURIST ATTRACTIONS
Tourist Loop – Route 81 (981 on Weekends)
Route 81 departs City Interchange and travels to CSIRO Discovery, Botanic Gardens, Telstra Tower, Scrivener Dam and the National Zoo and Aquarium. A moderate walking distance from the route will also take you to Black Mountain Peninsula and Government House. This route operates only during school holidays and on public holidays. Route 981 follows the same route as Route 81 and operates on weekends only.
Parliament House
Parliament House is located in Capital Hill. Catch the following routes to Parliament Drive or Federation Mall.
