We can assure you, they’re not photoshopped. In November 2009, large vinyl moustaches adorned 20 buses as part of “Movember”, to help raise awareness of men’s health issues, including prostate cancer and depression.

The moustaches were personally paid for by ACTION’s Senior Management Team. Bus driver Andy Young came up with the idea.

ACTION Business Manager Liz Clarke said “Given the demographic of our workforce, we thought it was a great opportunity to raise awareness and valuable funds for research into prostate cancer and depression in men”

Some of the fuzzy-faced buses ran on the new ACTION REDEX trial route from Gungahlin to Kingston Railway Station, which commenced on 16 November 2009. The other moustached vehicles were seen throughout the intertown network.
