- Services via Turner were split from Route 002 (1928) in February 1942, and sometimes operated in combination as 'Route 2&5'
- The route was modified in August 1942 to operate via Farrer St on Monday-Saturday.
- The route was modified from 28 July 1944 to operate via Liversidge St instead of Balmain Cr, and Ipima St instead of Farrer St.
- The route was modified in March 1948, with selected services operating to/from Narrabundah or the Causeway.

- The route was extended to Narrabundah Terminus from 19 April 1951.
