The new MyWay Centre at the Westfield Belconnen bus station opens for business on Monday 28 March, Director, Transport Planning, Paul Peters announced today.

“The Centre will open from 7.30am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday to sell and recharge MyWay cards and provide information on the new ticketing system,” Mr Peters said.

“The Civic MyWay Centre near the City interchange has proven very popular in recent weeks with customers who want to buy MyWay cards or obtain information, so I am sure this new facility with its convenient location near the Westfield station will also be popular.”

People have two weeks left to transfer across to the new MyWay system.  MyWay cards – along with cash fares – will be the only way to travel on an ACTION bus from Monday, 11 April.

Students are also encouraged to get their MyWay cards before the commencement of term two. Students or their parents can visit the MyWay Centre in Belconnen or Civic to apply for a card. Alternatively they can apply online via www.transport.act.gov.au

Student cards cannot be bought from MyWay recharge agents as they need to be specially programmed so they charge the correct student concession fares and apply the student cap of 26 fare paying trips per calendar month.

The cards can take up to ten working days to be processed and then delivered.

“We are now seeing about 20,000 journeys taken each day on ACTION by people using MyWay cards and that figure is continuing to rise,” Mr Peters said.
