Saturday (24/1/26)
643 (R3)
640 (R6) - transit enforcement officers boarded at the Legislative Assembly, but they were going to the drone show not actually giving people fines lol. I saw them later on 721 in Belconnen as well.

476 (R5) - felt weird catching the R5 in Belconnen, also weird seeing the R2/3/6 now terminating in Belconnen

That R8 with 864 would have been an interesting ride...the driver was in a hurry to go home (so I hear 😂)

It was a quick but interesting ride, especially towards the end in Gungahlin near the carpark 😂. Nearly caught that service again today but decided to try something else out.

398 (30) - today's Radford traffic was slightly better although that didn't stop the driver continuing along Haydon Drive and performing a 3 point turn in the middle of Battye St, which was quite thrilling (although nothing like my ride on 864 yesterday  ::)  ;) )
486 (R4)

Last Monday (9/2/26)
698 (31)
851 (24)
518 (R6) - saw 808 with "R6 City ANU" still on the desto, guess someone forgot to change it
503 (R8)
553 (26) - Same service I caught last week, while the bus was standing room only from Gungahlin Place to when I got off, it was nowhere near as packed as last week. They seem to have fixed the issue with the whole bus load of students boarding at JPC when the bus was already full as only 2 people boarded at the JPC stop this time.

Last Wednesday (11/2/26)
391 (30) - second oldest bus in the operational fleet. This service did a second loop through Giralang (presumably due to running early) which caught me off guard. Also no traffic issues at Radford anymore  ;D

802 (R4)
685 (R4) - took diversion via Parkes Way, Edinburugh Ave, Vernon Circle and Consistution Ave before rejoining the route on London Circuit

Monday (16/2/26)
710 (23) - saw an R3 with Spence on the desto, geez that would be confusing to some people if they didn't know of the changes. I've seen several R5/6 services with City ANU on the desto as well (as mentioned last week), not sure if the buses haven't been updated yet with the new desto files or drivers are selecting the wrong destination by accident.

First time on the L4 & a D Set. Nothing special about the L4, similar patronage on the old Carlingford train. Didn't mind the D Sets, I reckon I could sleep on the long distance trips in those seats.

Section N from Coronation Drive/Queen Victoria Terrace 3 lanes into one with traffic from these two side roads plus 'U' turners filling developing queue spaces, thus making it difficult for Commonwealth Ave N bound traffic to move forward. Once past Albert Hall it was clear sailing for all N bound traffic. Delay no timed but over 5 minutes.

Drivers have the ability to switch the bus stop bell off. It's fun when they forget to turn it back on & you're up the back of an artic.

It was more fun in the old days, when the driver would open & close the front door whilst still moving.

triumph

And perhaps less so (particularly for the driver in winter) in even older days, when some buses (at least in Hobart - 1st fleet of electric buses) had no front door at all.

I remember sometimes on the Renaults the driver would leave Westfield Belconnen interchange with the front doors still open and presumably drive to the depot with the doors open. Would have been around 10 years ago now.

Nothing super exciting this week, but next week I should ride my 200th bus of the year. I'm slightly further ahead numbers wise than I was this time last year but I assume it will all even out as I didn't start going really hard with bus riding until about May/June last year.
