Until the end of 2023, ACT Bus will be revealing the Top 15 buses of all time in the Canberra / ACTION Bus fleet (determined by number in the fleet).

At number 10 is the Scania L94UB 4×2 with 54 vehicles.

First in service: Bus 320, July 2004
Latest in service: Bus 373, January 2007
Years in service: 18+ (still active)

After evaluating several low floor buses on the market, in 2003 ACTION chose the Compressed Natural Gas-powered Scania L94UB as its first mass purchase since the Dennis Darts in 1997.

The initial order was for 23 buses (320 – 342) and utilised the Brisbane order for the same chassis. Unlike Brisbane order which was based on Volgren bodies, the Canberra L94s were built with Custom Coaches CB60 bodies (which were also used on the Irisbus Agora Lines).

The Scania L94UBs were the first buses to use a Hanover destination display – which is now standard across the fleet – and the first to use the Camira BDI314 seat fabric.

A further 31 vehicles were ordered for production in 2005 and 2006, bringing the total in the fleet to 54. Bus 352 was removed from service in mid-2022 and is the only vehicle to have been withdrawn to date.
