Bus 490 at Erindale Bus Station

Bus 490 was a Yutong “E12” ZK6131HG1 plug-in electric bus which operated in Canberra between March 2020 and January 2021.

Canberra-based company Electromotiv leased the bus and charging equipment to Transport Canberra for a 12 month trial, with the option to extend the lease or buy outright.

The Yutong bus as supplied was built in Zhengzhou, China. It seated 40 with standing capacity of 17. Its battery capacity is 374kWh using four Lithium-ion battery packs and it reportedly has a maximum range of 400km on a full charge, although the bus configuration can be modified to add or remove battery packs.

Bus 490 was withdrawn from service in January 2021.
