Bus 992 was a Renault PR100.3 bus with “Starliner” body by Austral Denning, Brisbane.
It arrived at ACTION on 30 August 1993 and was the first of the four diesel prototype PR100.3s to be delivered (the others being 993, 994 and 995). Bus 992 was displayed to the public on 8 September 1993, but is believed to have not entered service until 1994.
Bus 992 was delivered in the standard livery, but was repainted into a special green livery marking the sister city arrangement with Nara, Japan. It remained in this livery until it was withdrawn from service in 2014.
